Position Purpose Statement:

Responsible for the day to day supervision and control of production operation as it pertains to a given shift. Works closely with the Production Superintendent to assure consistent high quality product at the lowest possible costs. To the best of your ability, help to create a proactive environment where all employees are empowered and encouraged to seek continuous improvement.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

1. Product Manufacturing:

Operate manufacturing process according to established specifications and standards.
bullet
Make adjustments to the manufacturing schedule as necessary to ensure adequate supply of product to the customer.
bullet
Maintain manufacturing/food safety control program through the use of statistical process control tools.
bullet
Assist in the evaluation of raw ingredient inventories necessary to meet production demand.
bullet
Maintain daily reports and logs.
bullet
Analyze, recommend, and implement improvement opportunities in the manufacturing process.
2. Department Management - Staff Leadership:
bullet
Maintain communication and coordinate activity with other departments.  Supervise all phases of the manufacturing process as it pertains to given shift.  Assist Superintendent in the preparation of work schedules.
bullet
Assign and/or adjust workload to ensure adequate staff for operation.
bullet
Provide leadership through guidance and training for continued crew improvements.
bullet
Delegate work assignments during scheduled and unscheduled process interruptions.
bullet
Conduct formal crew meetings as they pertain to safety and general information.
bullet
Establish written goals for subordinates.
bullet
Provide crew with periodic written performance evaluations.
bullet
Recommend transfers, promotions, or disciplinary actions to crew personnel in accordance with Company policy.
bullet
Maintain control standards, personnel, and safety policies.
3. Operating within Federal, State, and Local laws/regulations and industry Standards:
bulletKeep abreast of industry standards, new ingredient opportunities, technical support services, and new product ideas.
bulletKeep control sheets up-to-date and records of such.
bulletProvide emergency plans as required.
bulletMaintain communications with proper officials.
